Inspira Cowl_1

The Inspira Cowl by Graphica is the perfect example of stranded colorwork in knitting.  The pattern is worked in the round on circular needles and uses two different strands of yarn alternating them across the row.  This creates a textured, warmer, more durable finished project with the strands being carried across the back of the work.

The pattern also offers this cowl in three size options.  We knitted the Mesa Rock using Classic Shades Frenzy by Universal Yarn and size 10-32″ needles.  This single ply yarn comes in really fun bright colorways and is a machine wash wool/acrylic blend.  We were able to complete this project with just 3 skeins of Frenzy: 2 of our main color and 1 of our contrasting color!

Knitted over a 2 x 2 knit and purl ribbing, the pattern starts from the bottom up, knit columns become purls columns with knit rows breaking up those sections, this creates a really cool staggered texture.  This is such a versatile pattern that can be worn around your neck as a cowl or pulled down tight around the shoulders.  We have 9 colors to choose from so come in to pick out your favorite combination.  To take a look at the pattern on Ravelry just click here.  -B
